The Terra da Gente report is both a warning and a celebration — of science, biodiversity, and the memory of those who fought to protect it.

The Terra da Gente team embarked on a historic journey through the Amazon, retracing the path of the Rondon–Roosevelt Scientific Expedition, carried out between 1913 and 1914 by Theodore Roosevelt and Marshal Cândido Rondon. Departing from Manaus, the group navigated the Roosevelt River, exploring untouched landscapes, forest sounds, and rare bird species — such as the Great Jacamar and the Chico's Tyrannulet.

The Terra da Gente program aired a special on southern Amazonas, with an expedition along the Roosevelt River that blends history, nature, and culture. The full production is available on Globoplay.

Pacaás Novos National Park (RO) hosted a groundbreaking scientific expedition that revealed significant potential for birdwatching tourism. The initiative recorded nearly 100 species and expanded the park’s official bird list to around 390 species.
