Proaves Rondoni Birding was founded by Glauko Corrêa, a biologist and ornithologist specializing in the survey and monitoring of Amazonian birdlife. His career is defined by strong involvement in scientific research, environmental conservation, and the promotion of ecotourism—connecting people to the natural richness of the region.
Proaves Rondoni was born from a passion for Amazonian biodiversity and a commitment to conservation. In response to the growing demand for responsible ecotourism and scientific studies of birdlife, It is an initiative that brings together science, field experience, and environmental education.
With years of experience, we offer specialized technical consulting, training, and immersive expeditions for researchers, enthusiasts, and sustainable tourism entrepreneurs. Our mission is to connect people to the natural richness of the Amazon rainforest, promoting its preservation through knowledge.
We operate in the Madeira–Tapajós interfluve (also known as Rondônia Endemism Area) , one of the most biodiverse regions of the Amazon, and the Purus–Madeira interfluve ( Inambari Endemism Area).
We primarily operate in the “Rondônia” Endemism Center, covering Rondônia, southern Amazonas, and adjacent regions—areas of high biological diversity, with unique habitats, rare birds, and landscapes that reveal the true heart of the Amazon rainforest.
We contributed to two recent initiatives that highlighted the richness of Amazonian biodiversity. In Pacaás Novos National Park (RO), a groundbreaking scientific expedition revealed the potential for birdwatching tourism, with nearly 100 species recorded. The program Terra da Gente aired a special on southern Amazonas, exploring history, biodiversity, and culture in a journey along the Roosevelt River.
We are proud to contribute to content that promotes knowledge and the conservation of Amazonian biodiversity. In this edition of the Pesca e Ecoturismo – Amazon Roosevelt Magazine, we provided expert information on the region’s birdlife and photographic records of endemic species.
